"Somewhere between life and death we make decisions" 2008.

These most recent paintings have been pared right back, a tenuous balance and contrast between sculptural shape and minimal painting, they reach under the skin and into the bone of humanity. Brush strokes have all but disappeared, we are confronted by a membrane of colour, everything matters, the slightest scratch becomes crucial, incised into the surface with a scalpel.

These paintings provide an insight into the MONUMENTS painting to be shown later in the year.

Framed size of each panel: 155cm wide x 210cm high

"Poem in the Rock" 2002.

The “Poem in the Rock” diptych sees the reappearance of the vessel shape from earlier works in the 80's itself being a visual metaphor for the human torso. The colours are vibrant and spatial releasing a positive sense of humanity.

Each panel measures framed: 120cm wide X 150cm high

"RS Thomas Triptych" 2000.

This painting was the centre piece of the RS Thomas  commemoration at the prestigious Welsh Academy in Cardiff. The work was an attempt to realise within abstract form the passion and intensity of the life of this internationally renowned poet. The work has been previously been exhibited in London and in Berlin at the British Art Salon exhibition.

Total framed size of the 3 panels: 150cm high X 326cm wide.
