2000+
The 1990's saw developments in Wales with the
Inversion
project working with Tim Collier in Cardiff, the exhibition of the
“RS Thomas Triptych”
at the Welsh National Academy, inclusion in the Welsh National collection
and other works shown in The National Eisteddfod.
After 2000 the
abstracts
began to deconstruct boundaries still further. Inspired by the dynamics of
the
RS Thomas
Triptych and Boscawen-un in
Cornwall he began to create the “Standing Stones” which developed nationally
and internationally and by 2003-4 had become the
“MONUMENTS or
self delusion” project. This project inspired the
film/DVD
of the same name and launched in late 2006 as an artwork in itself providing
insight into the artists working methods and the project but also as an
added dimension to the developing exhibition of this work.
Duffy's work inspired several other
dimensions during this period, in 2005 was used in the movie “Basic Instinct
2” and in 2006 the Triptych was used for the album cover of a new rock band
the “Cardinals”.
Duffy has a history of assisting and
encouraging other artists as with
Artgames
in the
70's,
Arena
Studios in the 80's, at the RAW
gallery project Whitechapel, London in the late 90's and at
340 Old
Street, Shoreditch London
from 2002, and in 2005 with the
British Art Salon in Berlin and
URBAN CINEMA
in Liverpool.
